Volunteer Policy

RYBA operates through the work of volunteers. Basketball opportunities for youth in the Roseville community would not be possible without volunteer work. RYBA, like most youth sport organizations, requires that families of all players provide volunteer work to help run our organization. Our primary need for volunteers is to support the Boys and Girls travel tournaments we host. Hosting our tournaments keeps costs down for ALL RYBA participants. Multiple volunteer opportunities will be available during both travel tournaments.

  • The volunteer requirement for Travel families is 10 hours (~2 shifts) per child with a maximum of 20 hours (~4 shifts) per family. The “opt out fee” is $200.
  • The volunteer requirement for In-House families is 5 hours (~1 shift) per child with a max of 10 hours (~2 shifts). The “opt out fee” is $40.00.
  • If you have a mixture of in-house and travel players, you will need to do requirements of both. Ex: 1 In house and 1 Travel player will have a total of 15 hours (~3 shifts) required or the “opt out fee” for each child.

Volunteer coaches (Head and Assistant) will be rewarded with their volunteer requirements satisfied. *Each team is limited to1 official head coach and 1 official assistant coach.

If the volunteer shifts are not completed by May 1st, families will automatically be charged the opt out fee per child fee to the credit card on file.
