2020-2021 K-8 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Registration is now open for the 2020-2021 Season.  Please know that at this time RYBA is planning on our season operating "as normal" in terms of dates, tournaments, games, etc.  We do know this is likely to change given that many circumstances are fluid due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  We ask that you be patient with us as we navigate the uncertainties.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact RYBAHoops@gmail.com or any Board Member directly.

2020 - 2021 Refund Policy Update

RYBA is a not for profit organization, which uses player registration fees to cover all expenses related to operating the In House and Travel basketball programs. These expenses include, but are not limited to, renting gym space, paying referees, buying t-shirts, and registering for tournaments.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the upcoming basketball season, the Roseville Youth Basketball Association is implementing the following COVID-19 refund policy for the 2020-2021 season.

In-House

  • Full Season Cancellation: Full refund
  • Partial Season Cancellation: Prorated refund if two or more games are cancelled minus a $10 transaction fee.
    • For example, if five of the 10 in-house league games are cancelled, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded.

Travel

  • Full Season Cancellation: Full refund of registration and travel fees
  • Partial Season Cancellation:
    • Registration Fees: Prorated based upon the number of weeks remaining in the season minus a $10 transaction fee. Example: The typical travel season is approximately 20 weeks. If the season is cancelled with 5 weeks to go, 25% of the registration fees will be refunded.
    • Travel Fees: Prorated based upon the actual cost to RYBA. Families will be notified how much will be refunded and when payments will be issued after RYBA conducts a thorough accounting of the incurred costs.

RYBA IS PLANNING TO HAVE A SAFE SEASON IN 2020-21

RYBA will be working with District 621, District 623, and MYAS as well as following guidelines set by the Minnesota Department of Health and Education to safely bring youth basketball back to our kids.  We couldn't be more excited to provide an opportunity for our young athletes to return to competition on the court, however that may look different for the 2020-21 season.

As of today, RYBA is planning to offer all programs K-12.  Although the safety guidelines continue to evolve, we will adjust our programs to comply with all mandatory and best practices provided to us.  There will be more information coming out related to facilities, social distancing, face coverings, contact, symptom assessments, sanitizing, snacks & drinks, spectator seating, contact tracing & isolation criteria.  Everyone's knowledge and adherence to these guidelines will help assure a successful and healthy season.

9-12 Registration will open in november

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Did you know RYBA is a volunteer driven organization? Everything we do is managed by a small team of volunteers who care about creating a successful basketball program for our community and kids. We receive no funding or support from the city, the state or the school district. Everything we do is managed by volunteers and powered by dollars we raise.

RYBA is a BIG organization. There are over 600 families who participate in our activities. Looking into the new season, we know there are things we can do better. We appreciated the feedback we received from your post-season surveys. However, there is only a small group of active volunteers, and if we really want to continue to grow, help our players, and attract more hoopers, we need you. Turnover is inevitable as kids age out of the program or interests change.  Without new volunteers, our program will not grow or succeed.

By generously giving a couple hours of your time, you can make a huge impact on this program (and secure your mandatory volunteer hours for the season).

Here are a couple opportunities we currently have available:

- Skills/Strength Conditioning Coordinator
- Coach or Assistant Coach
- Gym Coordinator
- Concessions Coordinator (Girls Tournament)
- Concessions Coordinator (Boys Tournament)

Please take a moment to reflect on what RYBA means to your family, and how together we can become even stronger. Again, if we do not have people to oversee some of these programs, they will simply go away. Current volunteers are already managing multiple duties, and cannot stretch themselves any further. We need you! Please contact RYBAHoops@gmail.com to learn more today.
