Volunteer Shift Requirement

Roseville Youth Basketball Association (RYBA) is a non-profit, entirely volunteer-run organization dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality opportunities for the Roseville community's youth to learn and play basketball. To help keep costs as low as possible for everyone, we ask that all families who are part of the RYBA community to help out by completing volunteer shifts throughout the season.

The volunteer requirement is one, approximately 4-hour shift per player registered. Please note that some shifts may be slightly longer or shorter than 4 hours. A vast majority of our volunteer shifts will occur during the Roseville Boys Travel Basketball Tournament, which takes place on the January 31 - February 2 weekend this season.

You will receive communication throughout the season about volunteer shift opportunities and how to claim them. RYBA Board Members, Head Coaches, and Assistant Coaches are not required to complete additional volunteer shifts. The RYBA community thanks you for taking on these positions.

At times throughout the season, you may be asked to run a score clock or keep a scorebook during your player's game. RYBA very much appreciates you helping out in this way; however, these duties cannot be used to fulfill a volunteer shift requirement. You may also be asked to help out at practices by your coaches, which is also much appreciated but does not count towards a volunteer shift requirement.

Only coaches who volunteer at the beginning of the season and complete a background check are exempt from fulfilling the volunteer shift requirement.
