Roseville Youth Basketball Association-Little Hoopers!

All Little Hoopers sessions for Kindergarten through 2nd Grade are Saturday mornings at Brimhall Elementary School, November through February.  This league does not practice weeknights.

The focus is on basic fundamentals and having fun.


IN-HOUSE BASKETBALL

The in-house program is designed to offer a competitive environment for 3rd through 8th grade students to play basketball.  The purpose of the program is to advance the players' basketball skills and team play.  No previous experience required - players of all skill levels are welcome!  Each league will play 10 regular season games.

Practices begin end of October, Games begin Mid-November and run through early February, with breaks for Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years.

FAQ IN-HOUSE

Volunteering: 

All programs 3rd-8th grade are required to complete tournament volunteer hours.  Tournament weekends are 10/29-10/30 and 2/4-2/5. This volunteer time helps to ensure program costs remain low. Available hours will be posted via dibs prior to our hosted MYAS tournament(s). If you cannot or choose not to volunteer at one of the tournaments, RYBA has an opt-out fee of $200.00 for travel or $50.00 for In-house. In the event you call off from your shift or no show, RYBA will collect opt out fee or players will not be eligible to play in the MYAS State Tournament.

Travel families are required to fill 2 shifts.  In-house  are required to fill 1 shift.  You are only required to volunteer for one tournament or if travel you can split your shifts between our two tournaments if that is easier for you. 

How many practices are there?

- In-house practices once a week for 1.5 hours.  When you register you can select the best available evenings for practices.  This will not guarantee all practices will be on these days but we will do our best during team placement to accommodate the availability.

When are the games?

- Games take place on Saturdays.  Your schedule will be sent out by the teams coach within the first two practices.  It does take time to make the schedule, and often adjustments are needed.  We strive to have the information available as quickly as possible.

What about a Tournament?

After the 10 game season that runs from November to February, our in-house teams grade 5th-8th do participate in an end-of-season tournament.  We participate in a local in-house tournamen  or match play event  with all the teams we played against in the season.

Friend Requests/Teams:

In an attempt to even out teams and create a more competitive league, we will only honor one friend request that is reciprocated.  Coach requests will be considered, but not guaranteed as we transition this season and make a focused effort to have a healthy challenge that will give results in players skill sets and level of play.

Registration & Payment Information

In-house Registration fee is $190.00 per player. 

Financial aid 

  1. WHO is eligible for Financial Aid?  
    • Players attending schools or living in the ISD623 boundaries are eligible for Financial Aid.  Players not meeting this requirement must pay the FULL registration fee.

 

  1. Registration fees for In-House Program (2021-2022 season)
    • $190 Full Registration Fee, Little Hoopers $100
    • $115 Registration fee for financial aid eligible, Little Hoopers $60
  2. Registration and Travel Fees for Travel Program (2021-2022 season)
    • $190 Registration fee + $350 Travel fee
    • $190 Registration fee + $200 Travel fee for financial aid eligible
    • Uniforms are an additional player expense when needed

 

  1. Financial Aid Applicants:

Players must present proof of participation in the ISD 623 free and reduced lunch program to our Treasurer, Joanna Winston. To apply for financial aid or for more information about our program, please contact Joanna Winston at RYBATreasurer@gmail.com

If approved prior to registering your player, you will receive a discount code to use during the online registration process. If approved after you have already registered your player for the season (paying the full registration fee), you will receive a refund of the scholarship / financial aid amount.
